Tobacco Bonche VANILLA
The history of vanilla goes back to ancient Indian tribes. The Totonaco, even before they were captured by the Aztecs, added vanilla to food and drinks, and paid tribute with vanilla pods. The Aztecs came up with the idea of making a delicious drink from vanilla, adding cocoa and honey. This drink was very popular with Hernan Cortez, the Spanish conquistador who transported vanilla to Europe, where it became widespread. Then this spice was available only to the elite, the nobility, as it cost more than gold. In the XVI-XVII centuries, vanilla was considered not a spice, but an exciting drug, it is a strong aphrodisiac. Nobles and rich people wiped their bodies with fragrant, fascinatingly sweet vanilla essence, and in France they came up with adding it to perfumes and smoking tobacco. Vanilla was added to confectionery and beverages, it goes well with saffron and cinnamon.
